Athletics

Mount Vernon Academy has several varsity teams including basketball, soccer, volleyball, and baseball. The Varsity Boys Basketball Team has won eight championships in three years; three league championships, four tournament championships. In 2003-04, they ranked 10th in the State and was one of the Final Four in the District. In fact, the Basketball Team has only lost four games in three years. The Girls Basketball Varsity Team was League Tournament Champions in 2002-03.

In addition to the varsity programs, there is a three-section Climbing Wall in the gymnasium that challenges beginners through advanced climbers, a 440-yard track, and tennis courts.

The touring Gymnastics team performs shows regionally at elementary schools and athletic events and serves as ambassadors for healthy living.
