Guidance Center

Mount Vernon Academy's Guidance Center offers students resources for career development and higher education. Here students have access to information on colleges and universities, or if a student chooses not to go on to college, access to career planning assessments and portfolios. Assessments are made with the Kuder Career Planning System, ACT Discover Program and COIN Preparations. The Guidance Center is equipped with five computer workstations, videos, periodicals and many other resource materials.

In addition, Mount Vernon Academy provides opportunities for students to explore life and prepare for the future.  Students are able to discover and build on their area of interest.  Career planning and exploration begins in the freshman year.  A wide variety of interest, personality and work inventories are available to assist students in discovery of personal strengths.  Career components are built into all courses with particular emphasis placed in the junior and senior years.
