Academics
Computers
Mount Vernon Academy is always seeking opportunities to include and update technology on campus. In light of this goal, all students have an MVA Laptop available to them for use during the school year for class work, research papers, projects, and reference materials. Students
may also choose from a
variety of technical
classes such as graphic
design, Microsoft Office,
computer literacy, and
photography.
Graphic design
students have the opportunity to learn the
fundamentals of Photoshop, one of the most
advanced graphic design programs on the market.
They can also learn to restore or manipulate photos
and create visual art through the use of Photoshop. The graphic design students often have the
opportunity to enter their work into statewide
contests.
Microsoft Office students learn
Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and
Publisher. The students get the
chance to develop not only
computing skills but also
practical skills which will be
useful in their life-long
careers.
Students in computer
literacy learn basic computer
usage, typing skills
the history of the
computer, and how
to navigate RenWeb,
the program used on
campus for checking
grades, attendance, and class schedules.
