Computer Lab
Technology is the up
and coming thing at
Mount Vernon
Academy. Students
may choose from a
variety of technical
classes such as graphic
design, video editing,
Microsoft Office,
computer literacy, and
photography.
The graphic design
students have the opportunity to learn the
fundamentals of Photoshop, one of the most
advanced graphic design programs on the market.
They can also learn to restore or manipulate photos
and create visual art through the use of Photoshop. The graphic design students often have the
opportunity to enter their work into statewide
contests.
Students also learn to develop
good video camera skills.
Microsoft Office students learn
Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and
Publisher. The students get the
chance to develop not only
computing skills but also
practical skills that they will be
able to use in their life long
careers.
The computer
literacy students
learn basic computer
usage, typing skills
the history of the
computer, and how
to navigate RenWeb,
the program used on
campus for checking
grades, attendance, and class schedules.
